I agree that the background seems too bright, a gray one would probably work better. It's a good shot, but seems to lack on the creativity/artistic side. It might work better with a slightly more narrow depth of field. Or perhaps cropping it more tightly for an almost abstract result, as those diagonal curves are my favorite part of the picture.
